(below) 19 land lock salmon caught in one morning while fishing on East Grand Lake! While this doesn’t happen every time you go out, it did happen for this family from Prince Edward Island.

(below) East Grand Lake is well known for Ice fishing. Bring your own ice shack or you can rent one from  local Maine guide Billy Apgar

(below) Snowmobiling, The East Grand Snowmobile Club offers miles of ITS groomed trails and your cabin rental host Dave, oversees signing, is a groomer operator and does the trail report. Note, we’ll be flexible with last minute cancelations is the trail conditions are just to poor to come.

(below) Deer and Grouse hunting. There are many great back roads and covers to grouse hunt. With mid winters, we’re seeing are rebound of the deer population. Below is a nice buck this Vermont hunter and cabin guest called in on his first day of hunting by grunting and rattling this past 2024 deer season in Danforth.

About the Cabin

The  cabin is just over 900 square feet, has an open concept. The living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. A spiral staircase leads to the loft with a king size and 3 twin beds.

Other Details About the Property

Located on a 1.5 acre lot, the cabin is next to Route 1, Weston surrounded by lawn and trees. A wrap around driveway means you can pull in and pull out with a boat or snowmobile trailer without having to back up.  Dave lives next door about 100 yards away from the property and will respect your privacy during your stay.

Other Area Things to Do

Leaf peeping in the fall, bird watching, ride the dirt roads looking for moose (ask Dave for pointers on where to go), hike the local East Grand Highlands Trail or cross country ski on over 5 miles of local groomed trails on the Harlow trail and trails near Danforth Center. Bring your canoe or kayak and spend the day or part of the day exploring East Grand Lake, Brackett Lake, Deering Lake, Upper and Lower Hot Brook Lakes or take a paddle trip down the Baskahegan Stream or Mattawamkeag River.  Spend the day exploring in nearby New Brunswick Canada. While we don’t have organized bike trails, there are endless miles of dirt roads open to the public you can bike on (ask Dave for details).

Snowmobiling

A groomed snowmobile trail is located directly across the street with a trail to East Grand Lake and ITS Connector trail 105.  Note: Dave is also a local snowmobile trail groomer operator for the East Grand Snowmobile Club and oversees the club’s trail report. You can message him for the latest conditions prior to booking.
